613 Dental: From Blank Storefront to Ottawa's Most Visible Dental Practice

613 Dental: From Blank Storefront to Ottawa's Most Visible Dental Practice

When 613 Dental approached Lundon Calling, they had a building — but no identity. The storefront was a blank canvas: white brick walls, bare windows, and zero street presence. For a dental practice in a competitive Ottawa market, that's a problem. Every car driving past, every pedestrian walking by — they had no idea a dental office was even there.

The goal was clear: make 613 Dental impossible to miss.

The Challenge

613 Dental needed a complete storefront transformation. The building had good bones — a prominent corner location in a commercial plaza with high vehicle and foot traffic — but nothing to tell the world what was inside. No signage, no branding, no window graphics. Just blank walls and empty glass.

For a new dental practice trying to build a patient base, first impressions are everything. Research shows that over 50% of new patients choose a dental practice based on its exterior appearance and signage. A blank storefront doesn't just fail to attract patients — it actively signals "not open" or "not established."

The practice needed:

  • Exterior signage visible from the road and parking lot
  • Window graphics that communicate services and welcome new patients
  • A cohesive brand identity that builds trust before patients ever walk in

The Solution

We designed and executed a full signage package for 613 Dental, covering every surface of the storefront:

Channel Letter Signage

The centrepiece: oversized illuminated channel letters spelling "613 DENTAL" mounted on a dark fascia panel above the storefront. The custom tooth-and-star logo icon sits to the left, creating instant brand recognition. The blue illumination ensures visibility day and night — critical for a practice that needs to be found by patients driving past after dark.

The letters are fabricated from aluminum with LED illumination, rated for Ottawa's -30°C winters and summer UV exposure. They're engineered to last 10+ years without fading or electrical failure.

Full Window Graphics Program

Every window across the storefront was transformed with vibrant, full-colour vinyl graphics:

  • Canadian Dental Care Program panel — communicating accessibility and government program participation
  • Children's Dentistry panel — a welcoming image of a young patient, targeting families in the area
  • New Patients Welcome panel — the most important message for a new practice, with bold pink background and dental instrument iconography
  • Invisalign Provider panel — highlighting a premium service offering

Each panel uses perforated vinyl, which means from outside you see bold, colourful graphics — but from inside, patients still have natural light and outward visibility. It's advertising space that costs nothing after installation and works 24/7.

Brand Cohesion

The entire signage program follows a unified design language: the 613 Dental colour palette (blue, pink, yellow, white), consistent typography, and coordinated messaging. Every element reinforces the same brand story — modern, welcoming, family-friendly dental care.

The Transformation

The difference is striking. What was a forgettable, blank-walled building is now the most visually prominent business in the plaza.

Before

The building previously housed The Newfoundland Pub Restaurant. Papered-over windows, no dental branding, and zero indication that a new practice was moving in.

613 Dental before — blank storefront with papered windows and old pub signage

613 Dental before — entrance side, bare windows during build-out

After

Bold channel letters visible from across the parking lot. Vibrant window graphics on every pane. A complete brand identity that communicates professionalism, services, and a welcoming attitude — all before a patient ever opens the door.

613 Dental after — illuminated channel letters and full window graphics

613 Dental after — corner view showing complete signage wrap

613 Dental after — close-up of channel letters and window panels

Why This Matters for Dental Practices

Your sign is your lowest-cost, highest-ROI marketing investment. Unlike digital ads that stop working the moment you stop paying, signage works every hour of every day for years.

For dental practices specifically:

  • 76% of consumers have entered a store or business they'd never visited before based on its signage
  • Window graphics turn dead glass into free advertising space visible to hundreds of cars daily
  • Illuminated channel letters ensure you're visible during early morning and evening hours — when many patients are commuting past your location

613 Dental's investment in professional signage isn't just about looking good. It's about converting the thousands of daily drive-bys and walk-bys into phone calls and bookings.
