How a Sign Installation Actually Works
Eight steps from first conversation to completed sign — with everything in between managed by Lundon Calling.
Inquiry & Scope Review
You describe what you need. We ask about your location, sign type, timeline, and any landlord or permit requirements you are aware of. This conversation shapes the scope and the quote.
Site Assessment
We visit the site to assess mounting surfaces, building structure, electrical access (for illuminated signs), sight lines, and any site-specific constraints. This is not optional — a quote without a site visit is a guess.
Design & Drawings
Signage drawings are prepared to your brand specifications. For permitted signs, engineering drawings showing dimensions, materials, and mounting details are included in the permit application package.
Landlord Approval (if applicable)
For leased properties, we prepare the landlord submission package and coordinate approval before filing the permit. This is often the longest step in the timeline.
Permit Application
We file the sign permit application with the City of Ottawa or the relevant municipality. We track the application and respond to any reviewer requests.
Fabrication
Once the design is approved and permits are in progress, fabrication begins. We coordinate with our fabrication network to ensure materials and lead times align with your installation date.
Installation Day
Our crew arrives with the right equipment — lifts, anchors, tools — and installs the sign to spec. The site is left clean. For illuminated signs, electrical connection is coordinated as part of this phase.
Documentation & Handoff
Timestamped installation photos, permit documentation, and any relevant warranty or maintenance information are delivered to you on completion.
