Ottawa & the National Capital Region
Ottawa is the home market. City of Ottawa sign permits fall under By-law 2016-326, and federal properties add NCC jurisdiction on top. Coverage runs across Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Orleans, Gloucester, Stittsville, and Rockland.
The 401 corridor west of Ottawa carries most of the region's highway-visible retail. Pylon and monument work dominates here, where sightlines are measured from a vehicle at speed rather than from a sidewalk.

Sign Permits Across Eastern Ontario Municipalities
A sign permit is not one process across the region. The City of Ottawa administers signage under By-law 2016-326, and federal properties in the capital add NCC jurisdiction on top of it. Kingston, Belleville, Brockville, Cornwall, Pembroke, and every other municipality in Eastern Ontario administer their own sign by-laws, with their own limits on sign area, setback, height, and illumination.
That matters most when a design is finalized before anyone checks the local rules. A fascia sign sized for an Ottawa commercial zone is not automatically approvable in a Belleville or Cornwall zone. Lundon Calling confirms the applicable by-law during design, not after a rejection.
Eastern Ontario runs against the Quebec border for most of its length, and a large share of the region is bilingual. Hawkesbury, Cornwall, Rockland, and Ottawa itself all have businesses serving customers in both languages, and a sign that reads well in one language and awkwardly in the other undercuts the whole install.
On the Quebec side the requirement is legal, not stylistic. Under the Charter of the French Language as amended by Bill 96, French must be markedly predominant on exterior commercial signage, at twice the visual space of any other language. Lundon Calling designs bilingual layouts to that ratio from the first proof, because retrofitting a French line into a layout built for English changes the letter heights, the cabinet size, and often the permit application.
